Baking biscuits with the munchkins.

I absolutely love LOVE love baking with the munchkins, partly because I love baking but mostly because I love watching the kids learn while having so much fun!

Baking is great for everything!! Feeling down? Bake a cake! Cheap day with the kids needed? Bake bake bake!! Want to be the best mummy? Bake a cake! It’s guaranteed to make anyone smile and your child will think you’re the best parent!

The best thing to bake with young kids in my opinion is biscuits! They get to roll the dough, shape the dough and when they are ready they can decorate them with different coloured icing! It’s a win win in my household!

Here’s an easy recipe I use for my biscuits.

You will need:

  • 4oz of butter
  • 2oz of sugar
  • Few drops of vanilla extract
  • 6oz of plain flour
You will need to preheat the oven at 150c. First of all start by mixing the butter and sugar in a bowl and mix until it is light and fluffy, then add the vanilla extract and mix it up, lastly mix in the flour and then it should be ready to roll out. Now comes the fun part for the kids! Get some shape cutters and let them cut away until it’s all been used, then put it in the oven for 25 minutes until they are golden brown.
When they are baked and cooled down mix some icing sugar with water and food colouring then sit the kids at the table and let them be creative with the colours and biscuits! Yummmyyy

Dont forget the best part is to eat them!!

Here is a picture to make your mouth water!
